Run Like Hell! is a distance arcade game requiring you to run as far as you can collecting coins and avoiding the cannibalistic natives.
Gameplay in Run Like Hell! is simple. You have to help the treasure hunter get to his plane on the opposite side of the island by running away from natives and avoiding the traps on the island. By jumping or sliding, you will gain distance from the natives while collecting coins.
The coins are used to open new levels in the story mode or in the in-game store. Besides story mode, Run Like Hell! includes time trials and an endless mode where you try to run as far as possible. The gameplay is immediately addictive, but the coin requirement for unlocking new levels in story mode pushes you toward endless mode. In endless mode, you can acquire power-ups like adrenaline and lightning that push the natives further away from you.
Even though fun at first, Run Like Hell! gets repetitive very quickly.
Visually, Run Like Hell! uses cartoon graphics to present the environment and world. A 2D side-scroller, there is not a lot happening on screen other than the constant jumping and sliding. The varied environments are interesting to watch, but there is nothing new other than new backgrounds to run against. With the audio, there is also not much to listen to. The soundtrack of Run Like Hell! is lackluster and quickly becomes background noise.
Run Like Hell! is fun at first, but falls into repetition relatively quickly.
